We Franciscan Sisters of the Poor and Associates are called to:
continue our healing presence with the poor and our commitment to Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)
be a sister and friend to all creation in accordance with our Trinitarian vision
We Franciscan Sisters of the Poor and Associates seek to motivate ourselves and others so that:
1. discernment of ministries and participation in specific ministries is guided by the understanding of our healing charism and our interdependence with all creation.
The following are taken into consideration:
the promotion of social justice and peace
improving the lives of persons living in poverty
creating healing opportunities that are wholistic
care for the earth
2. As followers of Saint Francis, we contemplate the Trinitarian pattern in all of Creation as governed by the law of interiority, differentiation, and communion. We praise and thank God for the wonderful gifts given to us. We recognize our interdependence and solidarity with life in all its expressions and are committed to share, to preserve and to pass on the earth's resources to future generations. We continue this Franciscan tradition and our fidelity to our charism called to heal the wounds of the universe.

COLLABORATION
The ministry of justice, peace, and integrity of creation calls us first to transform ourselves. We raise our consciousness and that of others by disseminating information and calling for suggested actions. We collaborate with other groups (See Related Links) in order to strengthen our ability to promote JPIC. In union with other religious Congregations worldwide, we signed a Declaration for the rights of women and children, relieving the debt of poor countries, cultivating a culture of peace, and preservation of the Community of Life. ( Click here for Declaration of Women Religious Leaders ).
Catholic Social Teaching requires and challenges all of us to promote justice and peace for all persons and all creation.
