Documentary Film Featuring Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Wins Two Telly Awards 7/6/09

"Quiet Courage: Persistent Vision," a documentary that celebrates the history of the Sisters of Mercy and the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in Southwest Ohio, has been awarded with a silver and bronze Telly Award.  The Telly Awards judges receive more than 13,000 entries annually from countries around the world; these awards honor annually the outstanding cable productions.  "Quiet Courage: Persistent Vision" also details the years of service in healthcare, social services, education as well as the religious needs of generations of Cincinnatians.

Sr. Mary Louise Sahm graciously opened the Congregation’s Archives to the producers, who were delighted with the completeness of the historical record. Sr. Arlene McGowan worked closely with producer Sheri Lutz. Sr. Arlene commented that prior to this experience she had no idea of how much work went into one short interview!
