“An Assembly is always a time...of encounter... sharing...prayer and reflection... fraternal conviviality...and making decisions regarding new issues...”
his is how we spent our three days together during our December 2009 Area Assembly in Brazil. We had times for personal prayer and reflection, and shared about our various ministries, and our personal participation in gatherings during the year and the reciprocity of our friendship.
n this climate, we began to formulate our strategic plan for the upcoming five years, deciding that for its implementation a team of Sisters will be visiting our local Communities. We also continued to prepare for the Anniversary Celebration of the 50 Years of SFP Presence in Brazil, recalling the various items that will be necessary.
t was with great joy that we held our end of the year Assembly and time for being together – on this occasion there were typically Arabic dances, with costumes and food, enhancing our festivities. These were felt as signs that life continues to be vibrant in our midst.
wo other topics which aroused much enthusiasm among us were the updating on the Process of Canonization of Blessed Frances and a lecture by Dom Joaquim Carlos, O.S.B., on the theme “Vocation, Belonging and Relationships.” This lecture brought us to reconsider our essential option of embracing Religious Life and living the fraternal life.
his is how we have experienced these days while strengthening ourselves and encouraging each other forward on our journey!
